We recently converted our garage into an ADU and used "Better LA GC #2" after getting a few different quotes. We could not be happier with the results. A few main things stand out for us. 1. Their workers were always incredibly friendly, and took care of any issues that popped up. They took care to not disturb our neighbors and us living inside the house. 2. They were responsive to any changes we requested and add ons we had, but didn't try to push a bunch of extras on us once ground was broken. 3. Most importantly, they finished AHEAD of schedule. While not trying to jam a bunch of things in at the end, they ended up finishing early and we couldn't be happier. And they are still responsive to coming back if we notice any small things that pop up. They usually have someone there to fix the issue within a day. All told the entire project was much easier than we thought it would be and would recommend "Better LA GC #2" to anyone. They might not be the cheapest option you find, but it's worth it to have peace of mind that the people doing the work will respond and listen to issues that arise. - Tom B., Aug 21, 2023

"GC" remodeled our bathroom in 2019 under another company. I liked his professionalism and work ethic so much that we end up hiring him in 2020 to start our ADU project under his own company, "Better LA GC #2". Although our ADU ran into some unexpected challenges and delays, "GC" and his team stayed true to their promise by completing our project to our satisfaction to the very last detail. These guys were amazing. I have worked with construction companies before who quote you 6-8 weeks and then take 9 months (actually happened) or to whom you give only one specific instruction regarding what non-toxic stain you would like them to use and then, of course, they don't and won't fix it (also happened). So needless to say, I was skeptical starting my kitchen remodel, but honestly, these guys did an amazing job. They showed up every day to work on the kitchen (which may not seem like much, but is when the others guys won't show up for sometimes weeks at a time) and were careful and through. They would talk to me and keep me updated so that nothing was missed and to double check, if not triple check, to make sure nothing got screwed up. They quoted me 4 weeks and finished in 5, where the only real delay was caused because I went out of town and couldn't finish my part timely (I wanted to do the painting with a particular technique for lime painting to match what I had previously painted). Even after the project was finished except for one last small part, and they had already been paid in full, they showed up to finish the job right away when the piece came in. I hired "Better LA GC #2" for my home addition and renovation project. We added on square footage, took down walls to make the space more open concept, renovated the kitchen and one bathroom and built a master en-suite. I chose them based on the project manager;' attention to detail, excellent communication skills, reassuring vibe and his apparent willingness to go above and beyond. We interviewed 3 contractors and he was the only one who created a 3d design to help me see the potential for my project. Daniel was great in that he gave me a list of all the finishing projects I would need to purchase and this helped me to be able to research for the finishes I truly wanted and was able to obtain them in a timely manner to keep my project on track. Throughout the reno we had unforeseen issues such as weather (extensive rain), needing to rent a temporary power pole, a very particular city inspector, and waiting on steps needing to be taken by the utility company that delayed my project. "Project Manager" was very helpful, responsive, solution-focused, reassuring, and calmed me down when I was worried or stressed. Every time I had a question he would address it that day and was always willing to meet or speak about my concerns, then to help with problem solving.
