After Covid and realizing that our backyard with a run down 1952 garage and grassy area with a trampoline was not functional for our family, we decided to borrow against our house and redo our backyard. We turned the garage into an ADU and the grassy area into a plunge pool and spa, adding to that a barbecue and seating area. From my experience with general contractors tend to take a long time when remodeling and on some days you can't get ahold of them, but I took my chances and went with "Better LA GC #5" and I swear by it, they are the most professional and honest contractors I have ever worked with. They care about customer service which for me is the extremely important since I'm spending quite a lot of money. They'll always get back to my texts and update me on the progress. I had my kitchen and living room remodeled and I really couldn't be happier! So grateful I found them. "Better LA GC #5" were amazing. We were moving to bigger home and met with them for just a rental makeover but after seeing the quality of their work they can do, we decided to do a full remodel to kitchen, family room and bathroom and it turned out incredibly beautiful. I wanted a French country look with old world feel but yet modern technology. We loved it so much we decided not to move for they made our remodel so beautiful. It is very, very rare that I give five stars to anyone working on my home - I am very particular and a perfectionist. I have now had the opportunity to work on two major (18 month long) projects with "Owner". I gutted both homes down to the studs, removed ceilings and replace air conditioning, made ceilings hirer and redid all bathrooms and kitchens - in addition to all outside hardscape. Basically, "Owner" was charged with building almost a brand new house. One of the houses had major structural issues as well as significant water damage. From his help with the choice of his materials and the execution the remodel, I would unquestionably recommend him for any job - big or small - from the ground up or a remodel. His subcontractors are excellent and meticulous. He is also on site almost every day - and when a meeting is called, shows up on time - armed with solutions. While he is not the most inexpensive (I would categorize the price of his work as fair and moderate in price), he is much more affordable than other contractors and stands behind his work. In some instances, even though the cost of materials and labor have skyrocketed, he will negotiate a bid fairly. Following the completion of all jobs he has done for me, he stands behind his work and if there is an issue, makes it a priority to resolve the situation in a very timely manner. Above all else, he is a nice guy, easy to work with and 100% reliably - a rarity with contractors. I give him an A+. - David P. Oct 11, 2022

We recently completed a remodel/update of three bathrooms and other misc. changes to our kitchen and various other areas of our home. Always easy to contact, "Better LA GC #5" was more than willing to work with us on our own ideas and accommodate what our vision was for each area of the project. We felt "Owner" truly wanted us to be completely satisfied with the work. He was not the least bit intimidated or hesitant when we discussed changes and always seemed interested in getting things done to our complete satisfaction. Toward the final stages of the project "Owner" was excellent in following up on and finishing "the details". We are very happy with the outcome of our project and would definitely recommend "Better LA GC #5" especially if you choose to be personally involved in your project.
